Features

AIM Activated Ginkgo ™

AIM Activated Ginkgo ™ uses an extract that has the same percentages and ratio as the ginkgo extract used in hundreds of studies: a minimum of 24 percent flavonoids (ginkgo flavoneglycosides), a minimum of 6 percent terpenoids (including a 0.8 percent minimum of ginkgolide B), and a 50:1 ratio (50 pounds of ginkgo leaves for one pound of ginkgo extract). Many of the less expensive ginkgo products use an 8:1 ratio, which results in a flavonoid content of only 4 to 6 percent and a lower terpenoid content. This smaller ratio could also result in side effects, such as headaches. The flavonoids guarantee antioxidant activity, and the terpenoids, platelet-activating factor (PAF).

AIM Activated Ginkgo ® is “activated.” That is, it is water-soluble, which means that it is assimilated faster by the body. AIM's ginkgo is activated through a special process that is patented in England, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United States. Studies have shown that activated ginkgo passes through the cell membrane faster than fat-soluble ginkgo. Only AIM Activated Ginkgo ® uses this “activated” process. Other ginkgo extracts are fat-soluble.

AIM Activated Ginkgo ® is processed with the utmost care. The trees are grown in Japan using special techniques to produce leaves that have much higher levels of ginkgo's active ingredients. To protect these ingredients, the leaves are picked by hand to prevent bruising and are taken directly from the field to the plant. They are dried using custom-built dryers that track the correct moisture level and are removed only when the correct level is obtained. Only water and ethyl alcohol are used in the extraction process.

How to use AIM Activated Ginkgo ™

Best results are obtained by taking 1 tablet 2 times per day for a total serving of 120 mg of ginkgo extract per day. Ginkgo should be taken on an empty stomach. You may take the tablets with pure water or juice.

You may see results within 1 to 2 weeks; however, ginkgo should be taken daily for 6 to 8 weeks to begin experiencing the full range of benefits.

Because ginkgo biloba extract may affect blood clotting, you should consult a health practitioner if you are currently taking coumadin or other blood-thinning medications. As well, if you are scheduled for surgery you should discontinue the use of ginkgo biloba leaf extract.

Shelf life is 3 years, unopened. Close tightly after opening and store in a cool, dry, dark place (70-75 F; 20.1-23.8 C). Do not refrigerate.

Q & A

Is there any time I should not take AIM Activated Ginkgo ® ?

Because ginkgo biloba extract may affect blood clotting, you should consult a health practitioner if you are currently taking coumadin or other blood-thinning medications. As well, if you are scheduled for surgery you should discontinue the use of ginkgo biloba leaf extract.

How long will it take before I notice any effects? Does AIM Activated Ginkgo ® build up in your body tissue?

This varies from person to person. Most studies have shown results in four to six weeks of use. Ginkgo begins working immediately, but the effect is cumulative, so improvement is generally gradual. However, it may work faster for some people than for others. No, it does not build up in your body tissue.

How does AIM Activated Ginkgo ® compare with other ginkgo products?

You are guaranteed the same percentages as the ginkgo used in clinical trials: 24 percent minimum flavonoids and 6 percent minimum terpenoids, with a 0.8 percent minimum of ginkgolide B. The special “activated” patent guarantees that AIM's ginkgo is assimilated faster than others. This includes liquid ginkgo, which, although liquid, is still fat-soluble.

What happens if I take more than the recommended serving?

Ginkgo has not proven to be toxic, nor have studies shown it to be more potent in greater quantities.
